I used a pic & one of the maps from the above printables and sized them to fit an ATC. I used the map for my background because the pic was going to be my vellum overlay.
I cropped the pic in Photoshop using a tree shape, printed it out & fussy cut it. I also inked around the edges.
Now for the magic! I brushed on olive oil, then wiped off the excess & used the heat gun to finish it. The pic is turned over & you can see the image through the back.
After getting the rest of my embellishments together & figuring out how I wanted it laid out...
As you can see, the pic of the women is see-through so the map underneath shows through. I added a couple sentiments (go, see. do is part of a full page of printables!), crinkled tissue paper, fabric ribbon, silk threads, and a strip of damask vellum I made from some scrapbook paper.
I also went around the edges with brass Art Alchemy wax & added a Sari ribbon for hanging. This would be a fabulous tag to add to a gift or hang from a doorknob for decoration!
Now it's your turn - go grab yourself some printables & create! Go - see - do!
This is so cool! I'm going to try the olive oil trick myself! I do love how this turned out, such a lovely vintage look!
