I love making ATCs but having them loose can present a problem. But not anymore! Make a deck of cards box from a template to hold your ATCs - it's also a cool way to give them away as gifts!
The first thing I did was open the box template in Photoshop & made sure it was the correct size as annotated on the template.
I then picked my paper -
7gypsies Ordre Du Jour Break the Rules Paper - & copied the area I wanted onto regular white printer cardstock. When you then print the template onto the paper, make sure the side it prints on is the
blank side,
not the patterned side. You want the fold/cut lines & words to end up on the inside of your box so it's unseen. Then cut it out.
The template is self explanatory as far as folding, gluing the one side, etc. I also glue the bottom flap to the inside of the box since you only open it from the top anyway. I went around the edges with distress ink.
Once it's put together, embellish! I used some torn scrap paper,
CCB burlap, and a phrase cut off the
Architextures packaging. Save your packaging - lots of great stuff that can be used for embellishing!
Next comes your ATCs. For this one, I used the damask side of an ATC card. I spritzed with a little
Tattered Angels Coffee Shop Glimmer Mist, added some torn scrap paper, a stylish
7gypsies Architextures Bovine Trinket, & an
Architextures rub-on phrase. I added the metal doo-dads & sprinkled chunky embossing powder over the excess glue for texture.
I cut a piece from the paper left over from the box to cover this ATC & distressed the edges. I then added a rub-on & words from the packaging mounted with foam squares.
I covered this ATC with a piece of the burlap and distressed the edges, then added a piece of torn scrap paper which I spritzed with
Tattered Angels Merlot Gold Glimmer Mist. I then rubbed on the kitschy lady & added the sentiment cut from my scrap paper. Then I spritzed
Tattered Angels Iridescent Silver Glimmer Mist all over.
There are so many fun products available from
