Hello, hello everyone! It's time for the Remember When Blog Hop! It might be Friday the 13th but it's YOUR lucky day! We've got a bevy of blogs to visit, each with a unique offering for our theme!
And what does the theme mean? If you're thinking something old, then you're on the right path. Not old, as in a vintage or dated look. We're talking old, as in using crafting items that we've had in our stash at least 10 years! From papers to tools to paints, we're making things using stuff from ''back in the day". So without further ado, let's get started!
I've created some ATC cards (in case you didn't know, ATCs started in 1996!) using old G45 papers (On the Boardwalk), some funky plastic scissors that cut decorative edges (terrible cutting edges because I've had them so long!), some old plastic paint pots like your kids used in grade school (mostly dried out), & a foam stamp set that has a tag on it dating to 1997!
I actually used cardboard for the ATCs because I don't think precut ATCs were as prevalent back in the day as they are now!
I must say, having only 5 paint pots not dried out left me with few paint options - and of course, the pretty colors I wanted were the dry ones! I did manage to find some old sea shells in the back of my closet for an embellishment.
It was really fabulous using the paint as ink on the stamp - whenever I'd press down, it would slide around 😃
I also just ran my finger around the edges with the paint for some highlighting - I do appreciate how far we've come with Tim Holtz distress inks & tools!
And oh the joy it was using a thick craft glue that hubby had for about 20 yrs - I so wanted to reach for my matte gel! And don't get me started on fussy cutting using dull, scalloped-edge scissors - yes, the sarcasm is thick 😐 All in all, it was actually fun! I was still able to create in my style which, thankfully, is a little messy & grungy - the supplies didn't disappoint! 😆
Now it's time to hop on! As you can see, we've got a lot of talented bloggers so you've got a lot of chances to see some fun stuff AND be entered for giveaways on EACH blog!
For a chance to win the prize I'm offering below, just post a comment - that's it! I'lI pick a winner on 18 April so be sure to come back to see if you're a winner! Also, if you're not a follower - please do - because I have a HUGE giveaway coming soon for my followers (see my giveaway post for details)!
Now, go have some fun with the rest of the hop!
