Teal, mint, gray, black, white - add one to another and you get interesting variations. And it's all about being authentic. Being real. Making mistakes. Growing in your creativity.
When I started doing these canvases, I was going to play it safe by using the flat sides. But I decided to do a couple vignettes, create something that reflected my style yet made me put together a story in a small space. So I just started looking through my stash of stuff, pulling different colors and embellishments. And I came across a metal Marie Antoinette. Talk about someone authentic and making mistakes!
She was herself, fearless. She loved her jewels and fashion and did what she wanted, right or wrong. She made mistakes. She was adventurous. And so I went on a journey with her.
The other one is more eclectic in its presentation. Moonlight and flowers. Bottled stardust. A domino and a mask - perhaps a game of taking chances and taking off the outer veneer.
Overall, it was an interesting challenge. Not only the color palette but the journey of being real and yet still learning and improving my skill and style.
