Nature's colors

UPDATE:  My canvases were a winner at Creativ Fusion!!

Fall is around the corner - I've been waiting for it since spring! The colors in West Virginia are beautiful when the leaves change. And I've got a couple canvases that feature some of nature's delicate leaves with those beautiful colors!

These leaves were all over my yard last month - they've obviously had some critter chewing on them which left behind a lacy, delicate shell. So I collected a bunch of them, just waiting for an opportunity to use them! And the latest Frilly and Funkie challenge was just the ticket!

I wanted to do something different (of course!) and decided on embossing. I have all kinds of different powders in various colors so I went to town on enhancing nature.

The colors of the sprays with the shimmer and the vintage look of the damask-stenciled background are the perfect backdrop to show through these gossamer beauties. And they're framed with ribbon to complete the picture.

Try adding some color of nature and life to your own mixed media projects!

I'm also entering it at Creativ Fusion Arts & CraftsCrafter's Castle, and Mixed Media & Art for their Colors of Life challenge!
