For my maiden project, I did a mannequin - kind of vintage couture meets steampunk!
I used elements from Printers Tray Trinket Set and Vintage Dress Up Set. And the dress is the printed canvas Sheet from the Hometown and Main Paper Collection!
The tulle is embellished with flowers, butterflies, and a vintage gal. Kind of looks like appliquè. That little chipboard window is embossed and has a window made by brushing oil onto white tissue paper to make it a little translucent.
So many little details everywhere! A vintage zipper, cogs, silver metallic trim - and another mannequin decked out in bloomers!
I embossed the chipboard wings and painted the bloomers with a mica sprays. Also embossed are the gears (in various spots on the manni) and A Vintage Girl which was stamped on the chipboard sheet - convenient!
The back is understated with a simple trinket and a rusty bell part. Decorative pinheads make great embellishments as well as holding things in place, especially mounds of tulle!
I could see a bride wearing something like this! It's fancy yet sheik with a hint of quirkiness! I want to encourage you to visit A Vintage Girl and pick up some fun and fabulous supplies of your own! And they are also available in the UK on 7 May!
I'm entering this at Mixed Media Academy, Classic Design Team Challenge, and Splashy Mix Challenges!
