Unzipping the past

I'm so excited to show you this canvas - it's full of rusty, grungy goodness and texture....and it's all done on a 12x12 piece of cardboard!

The pastes and crackle add so much texture and visual interest. Then you add the various rust colors of liquid acrylic and it looks like a big piece of aged metal.

The paper is brown kraft from packaging (I keep that stuff 😜) that I wrinkled and distressed, adding a zipper. I used old typewriter keys to spell out PAST and added an old photo.

Rusty, grungy goodness! That's what the past is!
