Steampunk man

Welcome to the Steampunk Blog Hop! I've got a group of artists who have been slaving away in their industrial factories, making all kinds of steampunkalicious goodies! And we've got prize sponsors - more info further down!

This is something I put together after I ordered some paper mache top hats 🎩 - kind of a Mad Hatter meets Mad Scientist!

I painted a bottle with black gesso and printed out a mustachioed man. This gear piece for the monocle is a mold I used with clear resin and pearlescent alcohol inks!

The top hat is colored with Finnabair waxes and the metal plates are clay used in a mold. The butterflies are from Creative Embellishments.

The top is covered with a piece of Tim Holtz'
Idea-Ology Abandoned paper. I've got various laser-cut wood pieces and doo dads on top. The 2 upside down vials have working lights in them 💡!

The brim has an old switch mechanism with crazy wire and metal studs. The back has a metal propeller.

It's such a fun piece and time-consuming! I'd start with one idea and then get sidetracked and decide on something else 😜 But I love the results! And if I decide I don't like the bottle with it, the hat stands alone!

GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED!
