The lady in black

I love dark and grungy projects - and some romantic mystery thrown in. This upcycled bottle is a new favorite of mine - The Lady in Black.

The picture of this dark beauty is from Never More Designs Monthly Gothic Challenge (which I'm entering!). I loved the ethereal yet haunting look and came up with this design using a bottle and cheesecloth.

And a beautiful old jewelry piece!

The fun part is when it's lit up. I had brushed the pic with oil to give it a vellum quality so the lights would shine through.

I left some black paint underneath in spots and some lines were added to the pic for an extra little something. And I'm in love with that flexible, puffy frame I found at the craft store!

She's an ethereal, Gothic beauty to be sure!

I'm also entering this at This is Halloween and Country View Challenges

  1. Absolutely stunning, really love this Cathy, fantastic project xx

  2. Wonderful! From the cheesecloth to the bottle textures and the image... And how beautiful when it's lit from the inside. Thanks for sharing with us at Country View Challenges!

  3. What an alteration!!! The cheesecloth look like a cloak and the beautiful jewellery piece is like a brooch!!! When it's lit up it's just even more fabulous!!! Thank you for joining the November challenge of the Country View Challenges!

Hey - Tell me something good!
